Who am I?

Hi! My name is Kisha. I’ve been practicing as a licensed massage therapist since 2013. I learned about this craft by attending SUNY Morrisville where I studied under some incredible professors inside and outside the wellness field. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend college, and learn from those who were more than happy to hand over their knowledge and expertise.

During my professional journey, I’ve met some extremely talented health and wellness practitioners along the way, and have learned so much from them. Those I studied with in school; those I worked with at my former business Relief & Relaxation Massage Therapy; at Elevate Albany Wellness; and Albany Massage; as well as through the incredible Upledger Craniosacral courses, and study groups I’ve attended.

Practicing Craniosacral Therapy after so many years of massage has been eye opening. This light touch therapy has taught me so much about what the body is capable of on its own, and how letting go of control can facilitate deep releases in the body I’ve never experienced with just massage therapy.

I’ve also learned so much from my clients. Their trust, feedback, and kindness have helped my practice and spirit thrive.

I love what I do, and am so grateful for the experiences I’ve had in this profession, and throughout my life! I’m definitely looking forward to what else lies ahead on this journey.

If you know me, and or come into my practice regularly, thank you for being part of it. If you don’t, I look forward to meeting you in the future!

I was inspired…

Why study craniosacral and massage therapy? Because I was inspired to do so. I always felt a pull toward some type of healing arts, and massage kept coming to mind. I ignored that pull at first, and decided to study music for three to four years.

When my oldest sister fell ill in 2009, she was gifted a massage session from a family friend. She asked if I would join her as she felt anxious going alone. So I tagged along. During the appointment, I was able to be in the room. I was blessed with the opportunity to watch a massage therapist’s healing dance. The therapist was very nice and well versed in her craft, she knew what she was doing. After the session ended, I helped my sister off of the table. She was the most relaxed and happy I’d seen her in months.

After she passed only a few short months later, I was inspired by my sister to listen to that pull once again. To help people gain a sense of relaxation, and happiness. Even if only for a short visit.
