Health, Safety & Helpful Tips
Before your appointment
Make sure you’re feeling healthy! If you have a cold or any other sickness, massage could make you worse. Best to reschedule if you’re under the weather.
Let me know if anything has changed in your health history. This can include chronic illnesses, pregnancy, mental illness, medication, etc.
Hydrate well the day before, throughout the day prior to, and especially after your appointment. Practice good hydration in general. Your body and mind will thank you for it… and so will I! Because it helps the body to become more pliable in session.
Use the restroom, which is located at the top of the stairs, or to the right out of the elevator. Holding it for an hour or more isn’t very relaxing, I speak from experience!
During your appointment
Please let me know if you ever feel uncomfortable or unsafe. It’s important to me that you get the most out of your therapeutic experience.
Do your best to let go of control over moving your body, and to practice total body relaxation. This is something I encourage all of my clients to work on, even outside of the treatment room!
Feel free to share what you might be experiencing in your mind and body during your session. I’m always interested to hear about your experience. However, it’s not something that’s required if you’d rather just enjoy it in the moment. (Definitely let me know if something is painful.)
Fall asleep if you want to! I will not be offened. In fact, it’s a compliment.
Let me know if you have to use the rest room, even if it’s in the middle of your session. It can get really uncomfortable holding it in on the table!
Breathe… In and Out. It helps let body to relax and gives the mind something to focus on other than life’s stressors.
